Today on my way to teach a piano lesson my tire lost most of its tread. The truck had been shaking for a good stretch of highway and right as my suspicions arose(about a blowout) something happened. We were still rolling and the truck hadn't veered into the next lane(a tractor trailer was next to us). I wondered why nothing like that happened, short of a miracle.
Getting out to inspect the the tire,I realized that we didn't suffer a blowout( I have before and it is no fun) but that the tread separated. I was able to get back on the highway, exit and make it to the tire shop where my spare was put on. I can't even begin to fathom the experience of navigating a blowout with my two young children in the truck with me. All I can say is that I thank God for protecting us from dangers seen and unseen. Never take life for granted even though it is easy when God's blessings and protection abound in your life. Today me and the kiddos are just glad to be safe, have another tire on and be rolling again! Now if I can just get them to take a nap...!
